This comic reminds me Samuel Backett’s Endgame, a heavy existentialist play in which a dysfunction family continue living lives devoid of meaning or substance in a post apocalyptic world devoid of all life except for them. And also waiting for Godot, another of Becket’s plays about two men who wait endlessly for a man named Godot (take off the -ot to realize the true subtext).

There’s some other modernist/postmodernist works that this reminds me of, but it’s been too long since my 20th Century English Lit. class so i can’t remember, hehe.

As to the matter of RSS feeds, it’s discouraging that some of my favorite webcomics don’t have an RSS feed.
It’s far more discouraging that my old Linux drive crashed, eliminating all my settings, up to and including OpenGL support for my AGP card. I’ve tried restoring that; I don’t think it’s gonna work this time around.
I’ll probably get around to an RSS reader again eventually, but I’ll still need to open the browser for a few of the comics I read.

The characters are wearing what Aric and I were wearing when I first drew the characters. I think we were both wearing gray jeans or corduroys.

I know it’s kind of an unoriginal thing to do a comic based on the creators, but at the time we weren’t fishing for a new comic. We just had a silly idea that became a comic, if that makes any sense.

two dots and a string… or is that three dots and a string? a boomerang?!? spider monkeys? Elvii (that’s Elvis, plural)?!? Oddly, it’s off to the side from the three “things” so far, well, technically off to the side of the shovel beam, so it’s definately something new, since they seem to have been continually walking in a straight line (over and over and over again)…
either way, doesn’t help that I’m listening to Spinal Tap and just finished watching Cannonball Run…

Love the concepts (like the Hand Juice and the Shovel Beam) and the setting of having two people stuck in a void. So many possibilities here, I can’t wait to see what you’re going to come up with next.

it seems to me that whenever they are talking about something, it will show up or change. they talked about lemmo’s hat, and then, a hat. why was the shovel not reaching terminal velocity, bam! a fiery beam. lemmo’s hand, hand juice. socks, sock-fox. and now some sort of thing will show up, proving a purpose to all this. it is as if thier conversations can manifest objects in this alternate universe.

alright so on this useless/useful map, we have the handjuice dispensor, the shovel beam, three hands, shoes and those socks(or did that change into the fox?).

I agree so much with sir Stubbs over there, this is incredibly original and innovative. I love it and am constantly surprised by the change in plot. Dying to know where this is going.

Hmmm… such a strong focus on this sockfox must have a reason… It’s also worthy of notice that they only spot this new rarity (which looks like a cabinet that holds a map or something else you might occasionaly find in museums to me) after this fox has been shown in close-up. Also notice the fox is obviously listening in to their conversation.

Perhaps this Sockfox is now some sort of god in this ‘garden of Eden’, after all, wasn’t the Sockfox the first to change form?
Maybe this whole comic is just a giantly entertaining way to show us how a new religion is formed or something ;)

Pretty predictable they were going to try and cut the hand off with the shovel beam. The surprising part however is that Aric doesn’t really object to this absurd plan.

It’s also nice to hear Aric still hasn’t given up on his primary task to actually find out more about this weird world they live in now instead of just walking along and letting things happen to them without really standing there stunned in amazement.
