[edit] Preface

Little is actually known about the BlankIt universe. This page is not for what is known, but for what is guessed at and predicted. Documenting an idea on this page is not mutually exclusive with formal and informal discussion on other pages; in fact, this page could eventually become merely a link page to a great variety of theories. And yes, this page was named for the TVTropes pages of a similar variety.

[edit] Cosmological

[edit] Canvas as a Character

S. Mackie believes that Chip the Biscuitd00d is a sign that the Canvas has wants and needs, including a want and need to interact with Aric and most likely Lemmo as well. This interaction seems neither perfectly malevolent or benevolent; the intelligence involved has spawned replacement hats, replacement hands, replacement Arics, and strangely placed impetus for conversation. It may also specifically respond (in a slightly negative manner) to any attempt by Aric to make rational conclusions about it.

[edit] Pair Theory

First there was Aric. This was not enough, so he was paired with Lemmo. When events pulled them apart, Lemmo met Fergus, and shortly thereafter met Automaric. (Aric met relatively few entities during his sailing trip; however, his pants started talking during the initial crash, then shut up again.) Upon further separation, Aric was immediately joined by Chip the Biscuitd00d, and Lemmo was stalked by an Unsettler, known to us as Misty or Arica. (At present, by definition, she has no name.
The model of this cosmos seems to incorporate a sort of pairing potential, at least for Aric and Lemmo. While they meet many sentient things in their travels (disregarding the everpresent Canvas!) the ones they spend the most dialogue and attention with are those they meet after being separated. In short, the pair unpaired generate other pairings.

[edit] Individuals

[edit] Misty

Citing that Lemmo's hat when removed was 'replaced' with a green one of similar make, Sqverl posits on June 10th 2009 that Misty is actually Aric. As an item left behind may become something new, Sqverl posits Misty may be Aric's replacement. Further evidence lies in the fact that Aric has been replaced once before.
If her presence is in some way tied with Aric's absence, I posit we're just as likely to give her the fanon name of Arica eventually, especially since there is precedent to do so.
As of A Morsel of Helpings, this would seem somewhat debunked; Aric is now accounted for and Lemmo is missing. However, Automaric was for many purposes a replacement, so see the above Pair Theory.

[edit] Chip the Biscuitd00d

S. Mackie posits that Chip the Biscuitd00d's initial reaction to Aric, to pat his knee, amounts to an endorsement of biscuits/cookies as Comfort Food. Probably subverted/invalidated by the following comic.

[edit] Hair in General

Edmond, on 17:11, 29 June 2009 (UTC), said: "Check out Lemmo’s hair…is it my imagination or are the three spikes in front growing over time? I think hair might be autonomous creatures in this reality, possibly ordering their own drinks at restaurants and communicating in their own language. Beware the hair."
Presently meshes with the use of Automaric's robot hair as a surprisingly effective replacement for Aric's hair, lost during elective surgery. That, and yeah, it does seem like Lemmo's bangs get bigger and bigger. Lemuel Pew has introduced into this dialogue the possibility that his art is simply whack; we're not buyin' it.

[edit] Aric's Hair

Aric's hair is unusual, no doubt about it. After losing most of it to elective surgery at the Shovel Beam, Automaric's hair has taken up the slack, at first unruly but now simply very long. Maglorious (7-7-09) asks and Thanatos (7-2-07) posit that Aric's robot hair may consume/take over his body, and/or that it has the general ability to eat, respectively. If it seems necessary to name Aric's hair, Maglorious has ably coined the name "Medusa."
In support of this idea, there is the precedent that Automaric already had a dependent Little Robot Friend. Perhaps the disguise also consisted of semi-intelligent dependent entities. This might explain why the hair stays put.
