Feed Updated

Friday, July 11th, 2008

There. I know no one was complaining, but I updated the RSS feed to only include the comics, and not these engaging comments by the creators. If I were subscribed to a comic RSS feed, I’d be upset every time it updated with my babbling nonsense. So, before you even had time to complain, it has been taken care of. You’re welcome.

In other news, the plastic forks on my desk outnumber the plastic spoons by one. The spoons could still win the battle, if they are strong willed and come up with a unique plan of attack.

I ran out of interesting things to say two paragraphs back. So let’s stop this right now, shall we?

Missing the Comic-Con

Monday, July 14th, 2008

I know, I know. “But you guys have 11 strips up!” That may seem like enough content to storm the Artist’ Alley at Comic-Con International, but think again. You can’t convert 11 comic strips into gasoline. It costs money to drag the Airstream that Lem and I share down to sunny San Diego. And there are mountains in the way of the journey! Have you seen those drops? I’m not made of flexible rubber. Falling off a cliff makes me die.

Don’t worry. This cramped Airstream (what are all these Mason jars filled with anyway?) isn’t going anywhere. Lem and I are safe and sound in Minnesota. There will be no mountainous antics for us. Unless you consider the mountain of rage building inside of me because of all these Mason jars. Seriously, Pew! What is all this? I can barely move my feet without spilling this liquid or that.

Waving to the Past

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

So I did that thing where I emailed cartoonists from my past. It was awkward. How do you smoothly say “Hey guys, I’m back! Took a little three year break from this whole webcomic business. Boy, was I sleepy! I see you’ve kept at it all this time. That’s pretty awesome. Anyways, here’s my link!” I must have done it wrong, because nobody is saying anything. OR! I did it too right!

Feeling a little bit of longing for the San Diego Comic-Con. Not that I ever profited from it. Planes and hotels cost money, and I never made shirts to sell. It is just a fantastic place to meet people. And that’s coming from someone who is almost a shut-in!

I remembered the other day that I can write with a pen and paper instead of the computer. That was a little freeing. Still feel a little stupid, but that’s par for the course.

Is that enough writing? Can I go now?

Blanket Comics

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Word of mouth is the best way to spread your love for Blank It. However, it might get a little confusing. If you tell someone to go to blankitcomics.com, they might hear blanketcomics.com.

But, you know what? It doesn’t matter anymore. They both go to the same place! So you don’t have to look like a big fat jerk by saying, “Actually, it’s Blank It, not blanket.” And then your buddy would say, “Both of those things sounds the same to me, and now we are no longer friends.”

We don’t want to end friendships.

The Twit Will Tweet

Friday, August 8th, 2008

If you didn’t already know, both Lem and I are on Twitter. Sometimes we make comments about comics. Other times it’s just me talking about how socially awkward I am. Either way, it’s a fine enough extension of this blog area. You know, if you’re looking for more ways to waste your time.

You can follow me at http://www.twitter.com/aric and Lem at http://www.twitter.com/lemmo.

In more webTooPoyntOh business, there is a Facebook page for Blank It. There isn’t really a good way to link it, so just click here if you’re on Faced Books.

And while Facebook sucks, MySpace is a horrible monster pit of monsters. Don’t even bother looking for us there. Monsters, I tell you!
